WANT TO SEE GOD? PLEASE SILENCE

SILENT, says Indian Jesuit known for his book entitled Birds chirp  and  Awareness  Father Anthony de Mello SJ is one way to find God. Unfortunately, often the mind and of man of God actually become an obstacle to silence. And of course ultimately a barrier to be able to experience the presence of God.
Whether consciously or not, certain images and thoughts about God that a person has subjected his mind.  And without thinking and by releasing these images in silence, we will come to God by itself.  Silence goes beyond words and thoughts.
So, if you want quiet, do not be thinking dong! ......

Three Things
There are three things that must be done to be silent.
First, the "understanding" that God does not like the idea that we have of him.
Secondly, look, listen, look, and listen.
Third, using the scriptures to enter in silence.

Thirdly it will be explained as follows.

  1.  How to "understand"?  People should come out of memories and thoughts, only he can reach him by heart.Illustrations that might explain this is the story of a small fish who seek ocean. He traveled to and fro but he found only water. He fixated on the concept of "ocean", but he did not realize that when he was around he was in the ocean itself.  Do not tell me, we can never meet God because we are fixated on concepts and thoughts about God.
  2.  What is meant by looking, listening, looking, and listening is to do with the heart. You may see the sunset, hear the waves rolling up on the beach. But you do not necessarily feel the beauty. You might see people dancing, listening to music accompaniment, but not necessarily you feel the beauty of dance and music.
  3. You can also use the scriptures to help enter the silence. How to use the scriptures to fit in silence?  Take a quote or story in the scriptures. Read. If you are touched by a word, or a phrase, stop. Repeat the word or phrase. Repeat until your heart is satisfied and full. If you are satisfied, you may react to these words. You may agree, should protest. May accept, may be denied. It is okay. There is a possibility the time will come, when you are tired of reacting with words, when there is a feeling that is very deep and rich fullness of heart until there are no more words to express it.   All you can do is be silent without power and silence. Hold on. If the mind starts to wander again, take the holy book and continue reading until touched another sentence. Please try. May you experience inner silence.
