Reading the Liturgy Sunday, February 5, 2017
PW S. Agata, Virgin and Martyr

First Reading Isaiah 58: 7-10
Thus saith the Lord God, "I desire that you distribute your bread to the hungry, and bring to your house poor people who have no home; and when you see the naked, that thou mayest give him clothes, and do not hide yourself against your own brother!
Then your light will break out like the dawn, and your wounds will heal quickly. Truth be a row before you, and the glory of the Lord be pengiringmu. At that time you will call upon the Lord and He will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say, 'Here I am!' If you are no longer wearing the yoke to the neighbor, and no longer pointing the finger and slander, if you submit to the hungry what you want yourself, and satisfy the oppressed, then your light will rise in darkness, and kegelapanmu would like noon.
Thus saith the Lord.

Psalm Ps 112: 4-5.6-7.8a.9
For God's righteous shine like lights in the darkness.
* To the right he was glowing like a light in the dark,
he is gracious and compassionate and justice.
People either merciful and lending,
conducting the affairs properly.
* People honestly never wavered; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news, his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
* His heart is steadfast, he is not afraid, He was generous, poor people gave alms;
virtues remain forever, horns raised in glory.

Second Reading 1 Corinthians 2: 1-5
Brethren, when I came to you, I did not come up with beautiful words or wisdom to pass on to you the testimony of God. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
I came to you in weakness, with great fear and trembling. Neither the doctrine nor pemberitaanku not I command with words of wisdom are reassuring, but by a belief in the power of the Spirit, so that your faith may not rely on human wisdom but on the power of God.
Thus saith the Lord.

Introduction to the Gospel of John 8:12
I am the light of the world. He who follow me will have the light of life.

Gospel reading Matthew 5: 13-16
In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus said to His disciples, "Ye are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be restored? It is no use anymore except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot people.
You are the light of the world. The town is located on a hill can not be hidden. Moreover, people light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. "
Thus the Gospel of the Lord.

Devotional.
Salt and light are two things that commonly encountered and experienced in their daily lives. Jesus uses the term "salt" and "light" to show the essence of his followers. (Matthew 5: 13-16), reason, salt is used to give flavor to the food and preserving foods because salt has the power to control bacterial decay. Therefore, Jesus requires his followers.
First, to give a sense of a world that has become tasteless because people no longer live in love. Therefore, one of the main tasks followers of Christ is to make the world a place to stay that is safe and comfortable, love one another and live in peace.
Second, to save the world from sin decay. But "if the salt loses" (ay13), it means that the salt has lost its function. If so, he was no longer useful. Followers of Christ who have lost their function is of no use. "Light of the world" (ay14), because if there is no light, the movement is restricted, people can not enjoy the beauty of the world. Living things will die. Because it is so important function for the life of the light, then the first thing God created light (Gen. 1: 3) Function light that is so important to the life of Jesus applied to His followers, that should bring life and atmosphere "light" for others. "When people light a lamp and put in the basket" (ay15), which he undertook in vain because the light is not working to illuminate. Likewise, Christians who can not illuminate the world. Christians must illuminate the world with all the "good works" (ay16), means to live according to the Gospel, especially living in the mercy of God and that the world is getting to know God and to glorify Him.

Item contemplation.
For the writer of the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus' listeners and the Christians are the salt and light of the world. As followers of Christ, we must not be selfish seclusion of daily living. We should live in this world and for the world. As part of the world, we must make a positive contribution, we and our actions should bring benefits for others and the world around us. The fact that we are disciples of Christ recently shown, if we want to love God and neighbor. Every follower of Christ is called to be the salt and light of the world, but must remain vigilant, lest we live according to the spirit world.
St. Paul invites us also say the word "Amen", Amin or agree on what? Agree or "Amen" to the Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled all the promises of God. All the promises of God regarding salvation, peace, forgiveness and so any course in-yes-right or fulfilled and implemented in the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the faith of the Church is certain. So we can say "Amen"
What is the meaning of "amen" in daily living? Peng -amin's us against the Holy Mass, the Word of God proclaimed at Mass, the Our Father, Hail Mary, the Creed prayer actually has consequences that we implement what we celebrate or pray for it. Take just one example of today's Gospel reading "you guys are the salt of the world". Do not we have meng - amini - These words at the end of the Mass which is now the mission, "Go, You sent" Kalu's answered "Amen" we should also persevere to make it happen that Word to live life as a salt, it means to live an empowered for others, giving a positive influence in the community when we are present. LHA if every time we attend even unrest, yes we have salt useless.

Prayer.
Yes mahamurah Lord, make us your people salt and light for others and the world. amen
