DAILY DEVOTIONAL, (WEDNESDAY 8 FEBRUARY 2017)

Reading the Liturgy Wednesday, February 8, 2017
PF S. Jerome Emilianus

First Reading Genesis 2: 4b-9.15-17
Thus the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, - no bush anything on earth, has not raised any plants in the field; for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; but there was mist rising up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the earth - that's when the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed life into his nostrils; and man became a living soul.
And the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east; and there he put the man whom he had formed. Then the Lord God to grow every tree of the earth, interesting and good for food; and the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and keep it. Then the Lord God gave this commandment to the man: "All the trees in the garden may you eat its fruit freely, but the tree of knowledge of good and evil, do not you eat the fruit, because on the day you eat from it you will surely die."

Psalm Ps 104: 1-2a.27-28.29bc
Praise the Lord, O my soul!
God, my God, you are very great! You are dressed in glory and splendor, which is covered with light as with a garment, who stretches out the heavens like a tent;
All of them wait for you, so given food on time.
If you provide it, they picked it up; when you open your hand, they were filled with goodness.
If thou hide thy face, they were surprised; if you take away their spirit, they die and return to dust.

Gospel reading Mark 7: 14-23
One day, Jesus called the crowd and said to them, "Listen to Me and carefully consider this! Anything from the outside, which goes into a man, can not defile him! But what comes out of a man, that defiles a man!" Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear! After this, Jesus went into a house to get away from the crowds. Then the disciples asked Jesus about the parable. Jesus answered, "Are you also can not understand? Listen! Everything from the outside into the man can not defile him, because it does not go into his heart but into his stomach, then dumped into the sewer?"
Thus Jesus declared all food clean. Jesus said, "What comes out of a man, that defiles a man! Because of the hearts come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, evil, cunning, lust, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly . All these evil things come from within and defile a man. "
Thus the Gospel of the Lord.

Devotional.
The first reading today tells of the creation of man by God. Man was formed from the dust of the earth. God breathed the breath of life so lifelike. For her, the man was given all the things you need, such as various fruit trees provide tasty and fresh to eat. But there was one tree which is the tree of life that should not be eaten. We are familiar with this story. Even Sunday School children had been given this story. But what does it mean?
The first man was created by God as a beautiful work of art. God formed man of the dust, From which does not mean, that dust, we became human meaning because it is made and shaped by God. So it is necessary to always give thanks, for this life being so precious and valuable because we have been appointed by God to be a creature of dignity and worth.
Twice humans equipped with everything needed in order to live. That is the meaning of all the trees that God gave to us eating and we used to live. Nature created by Allah is actually incredible. We can eat from what is produced by the tree, drawing water from the earth, from all kinds of mine too. When it hurts, there are a variety of medicinal plants that extraordinary usefulness. If sick colds, create ginger, warm deh, That means that nature is already sufficient in providing the means to live, is important we do not get greedy and exploit nature arbitrary arbitrary.
Thirdly the tree of life that is forbidden to be eaten reveal that remain in the natural world and ourselves these remains belong only to God. There is a part of life that still belong to God and must remain a mystery to us. That is life itself that we must submit to God alone.

Item contemplation.
Healthy heart, For from within. out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts (Mk 7: 21) Those Pharisees and scribes are upset because pupils disciples did not obey the tradition of the elders. They want to state that His disciples pupil hands are unclean because not washed before eating would defile their food anyway. Jesus would affirm that defiles not the outward things, but that bathiniah. The heart is the center of the human personality. If the liver is not maintained properly then comes all the following list of sins: sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, evil, cunning, lust. envy . blasphemy, pride. imbecility, (Mark 7: 21-22) It is this thing that defile the man. Human sanctity is not lost because of contact with the outer impurity, for example through contact with people / objects unclean. Sanctity of human beings would be lost as a result of sin.
