Feast of the Throne S. Peter, the Apostle

First Reading 1 Peter 5: 1-4
Dear brothers and sisters, as friends elder and a witness of Christ's sufferings, which also will share in the glory that will be revealed later, I exhort the elders among you: Feed the flock of God which is in you, do not be forced, but voluntary in accordance with God's will, and not because they want to make a profit, but with devotion. Or do you act as if you want to rule over those entrusted to you, but be ye be an example to the flock. Then, when the Chief Shepherd comes, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.
Thus saith the Lord.

Psalm Ps 23: 1-3.4.5.6
Lord my Shepherd, I will not lack.
* God my shepherd, I will not lack. He laid me on the green pastures. He guides me beside quiet waters, and refresh me.
He guides me in paths straight, for the sake of his holy name.
* Even walking in the dark valley, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me. Stick your pasture, they comfort me.
* You provide the dish for me, in the presence of all mine enemies. You anoint my head with oil, my cup runneth over.
* Willingness and Thy mercy accompany me in my life. I will dwell in the house of the Lord of all time.

Introduction to the Gospel of Matthew 16:18
You are Peter, on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail.

Gospel reading Matthew 16: 13-19
On one occasion Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi. He asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets." Then Jesus asked them, "But who do you say I am?" Simon Peter answered,
"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God!" Jesus said to him,
"Blessed are you Simon son of Jonah, for not a man who declared it to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I say unto you:
You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church,
and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. To you I will give the keys to the kingdom. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. "
Thus the Gospel of the Lord.

Devotional.
Today is the Feast of the Throne of St. Peter. We often hear about the Holy See. Various documents of the Church is always associated with the teachings of the Holy See. If there are new rules or norms of socialization in the liturgy for example, we always connect from the Holy See. Who is the Holy See? Holy See Pope pointed to the throne another term yes throne of St. Peter which we celebrate today. Takta celebration of the feast of St. Peter or the Holy See is not to glorify the position or positions of the Holy Father or Pope in Rome. This celebration is precisely the expression of gratitude to God for the gift of the Church that is one and holy, that should be spread throughout the world, united by the Holy Father whose symbol O Holy See.
Despite occupying the Throne, the connotation pointed position of the king, the Church remains understand sacred for Pope's throne, or the throne of the bishop in each diocese as a form of pastoral ministry that spirit depicted in the first reading today. The shepherds who sit on the throne of this service must serve voluntarily, devotion and dare to be an example to the flock. Being a role model is a very difficult thing because it dares to be the first-round, especially in the spirit of sacrifice, purity and service.

Reflections grains.
Let us be grateful for our shepherds, In particular we pray for the Holy Father entrusted with the task instead of St. Peter by the Lord Jesus entrusted the keys to the kingdom. Pope was the one who unites the whole Church in the world. We also need to pray for the bishops and priests. Church leaders are probably many weaknesses and perhaps we the people are often disappointed to them, but let us respect the "throne" or chairs ministry those who somehow remain chaste as given by the Lord Jesus to them.

Prayer.
Yes God is merciful, give power to the shepherds thy to remain faithful pastoral duties. amen
