DAILY DEVOTIONAL, (SATURDAY 4 MARCH 2017)

Reading the Liturgy Saturday, March 4, 2017
PF S. Casimir

First Reading Isaiah 58: 9b-14
This is the word of God, "If you no longer wear the yoke to the neighbor, and no longer pointing the finger and defamatory; if you submit to the hungry what you wish for yourself and satisfy the oppressed, then your light will rise in darkness, and darkness you would like a full day. the Lord will continually guide you and satisfy your desire in scorched places, and give strength. you will be like a garden that is watered well and like a spring that never disappoints. you will build the ruins that for centuries, and will improve the foundation laid by many descendants. you will be called "the repair walls translucent" "the corrected road" so the place was habitable. If you do not trample on the law of the Sabbath and do not do that to you on the day my sanctuary; if you call the Sabbath "A Delight", the holy God "day of His Majesty;" if you honor it by not running all the show and by not taking care of your own business, or say nonsense, and you will have fun , because of the Lord. I will make you ride on the hills of the earth with the victory of the vehicle; I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
Thus saith the Lord.

Psalm Ps 86: 1-2.3-4.5-6
Show me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth.
* Incline Your ear, O Lord, answer me, for I am poor and needy. Keep my life, for I am the one you love, save your servant who believe in you.
* You are my God, have mercy on me, because to thy I cried all day. Make the soul of your servant rejoice, for unto thy, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
* Therefore, O Lord, you are really good and forgiving, thy abundant mercy to all who call to you. Give ear to my prayer, O Lord, and consider the voice of my supplications.
Bait Introduction to Gospel Yeh 33:11
I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that he will live his conversion.

Gospel reading Luke 5: 27-32
On one occasion Jesus saw a tax collector named Levi,
was sitting in his office. Jesus said to him, "Follow me!"
Then Levi stood up and left everything and followed him.
Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house.
A large number of tax collectors and others participated eat together with him. Pharisees and scribes murmured
the disciples of Jesus, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?" Then Jesus replied, "It is not the healthy who need a physician, but the sick! I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."
Thus the Gospel of the Lord.

Devotional.
Good action is the fruit of a commitment lived continuously in life. A student who wants to obtain the maximum value to be studious. A monk - nun who wanted to grow in the spiritual life to be disciplined in spiritual practice. Parents who want to be loyal harmonious family time to stay home with the children and spouse.
Jesus also wants a commitment from us to follow Him. Today's Gospel mengkisahkan about Levi, a tax collector who followed Jesus. The story is told in an interesting way for us to reflect on the life of faith. When Jesus called and invited him to say: "Follow me," he stood up, left everything and followed him. He did not stalling stalling, of course, as a tax collector he must have property in the form of money, valuables, and so forth. However, he left all and followed him.
We can learn from the attitude of Levi in following Jesus. In the spiritual journey, we also need a firm commitment. Jesus always saying hello and calling us to conversion through the Word in the Eucharist, and daily spiritual experiences. Ironically, though we often ignore. We postpone temporize time to repent and return to God.
Repented not about tomorrow, but the rest of our lives every day which is expressed through little things faithfully and diligently today. Repentance slightest we do every day will foster faith in God, because the conversion will help us to let go of selfishness that often stand in the grace of God in us. Perhaps the conversion was not easy, but together with the grace of God we were able to begin. The saints in the Church have proved their commitment to the faithful in prayer, ascetical, abstinence and fasting. All is seen as a spiritual practice.
Let us build a commitment to conversion, especially this Lent period, so that we get a clean heart, close to God, and in time we can celebrate the paschal mystery with the full faith and joy in their hearts.

Item contemplation.
No man in this world that is not innocent. From birth, man has inherited the seeds of sin. Sin is human actions and words that are not in accordance with God's will and this is done consciously, know and want. Sin makes the relationship between man and his fellow human relationship with God becomes harmonious. Fortunately we have a merciful Father to us his children. His love and mercy to us sinners His ways. By always calling us to repent and restore our relationship with others and God. Because Jesus came into the world to call sinners to return to the embrace of God.
Thus Jesus makes us have a chance to be saved from the power of death. Because of sin, we are walking towards death, but through Jesus, we were led to safety. That experience Levi, a tax collector who proclaimed in today's Gospel. He is regarded as sinners could repent drastically because of his encounter with Jesus. A valuable lesson that we can get from Levi, the tax collector is the openness of heart to follow the call of Jesus repentance and willingness to leave the establishment as well as the worldly pleasures that he has. Without openness of heart to follow the call of Jesus and a willingness to leave the worldly pleasures, conversion effort will fail.

Prayer.
Good God almighty wise, teach your people to build commitment to repent during this Lent. Amen.
