First Reading Ezekiel 47: 1-9.12
Said the Prophet: An angel brought me to the temple, and I noticed that water out from under the threshold of the temple, and flows to the east; because the temple is also facing east; The water was flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the altar. And the angel led me out through the north gate and brought me around the outside of the gate facing east. Indeed, the water was trickling from the south. And the angel went eastward with a measuring line in his hand. He measured a thousand,
and led me through the water; it was ankle deep. He measured a thousand, and led me once again into the water; now knee deep. Then he measured a thousand, and led me through time into the water;
now it is up to the waist. Again he measured a thousand cubits,
and now it has become a river of water where I can not walk any more, because the water had risen so people can swim; a river that can not be crossed again. Then the angel said to me,
"Do you see, son of man?" Then he brought me back to the bank of the river. On the way home, really, along the banks of the river were very many trees, on this side and on that side. The angel said to me, "This water flows toward the eastern region, and down to the Arabah, and empties into the Dead Sea,
then the sea water containing lots of salt that has lost its taste. Where the river goes, all the creatures that swarm in it will live. The fish will be very much, for wherever the water was up to, in situ seawater into freshwater, and where the river goes,
all who were there live. On both sides of the river grew miscellaneous fruit trees, whose leaves do not wither and fruit should never end. Each month there are more new fruit, because the trees get water from the sanctuary. Fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing. "
Thus saith the Lord.

Psalm Ps 46: 2-3.5-6.8-9
The Lord of hosts is with us, our fortress town is the God of Jacob.
* God is for us a refuge and strength, a helper in distress was evident. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth changes, though the mountains shake in the sea.
* City of God, the residence of the Sovereign, and filled by streams of a river. God is in it, the city can not be moved; God will help her in the morning.
* The Lord of hosts is with us, our fortress town is the God of Jacob.
Go on, look at the work of the Lord, who held the destruction of the earth.

Introduction to the Gospel Ps 51: 12a.14a
Create a clean heart in me, O God,  grant me the joy of Your salvation.

Gospel reading John 5: 1-16
On the feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In Jerusalem, near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda; five porches, and in the galleries lay a multitude of the sick, the blind, the lame and the lame, waiting for the moving of the water. Because any time an angel of the Lord fell into the water and shake it; History whoever goes into it after shaking the water, be healed, no matter what the ailment. Is there a thirty-eight years sick. When Jesus saw him lying there, and when he realized that he had been a long time in that state, he said to him, "Do you want to get well?" The sick man answered Him, "Lord, there is no one to put me into the pool, when the water is troubled, and while I myself toward the pond, another steps down before me." Jesus said to him,
"Rise, take up your mat and walk." And by the time the man was healed, and he picked up his bed and walk. But the day was the Sabbath. Therefore the Jews said to the man who had been healed, "Today is the Sabbath, and may not be for you to carry your mat."
But he answered them, "The man who healed me,
she who said to me, 'Pick up your mat and walk. "
They asked him, "Who is the man who said to you:
Pick up your mat and walk '? "But the man who had been healed
do not know who it was, for Jesus had slipped into the middle of the crowd in that place. Then when you meet him in the temple, Jesus said to him, "You have healed; sin no more, lest anything worse happen." The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him. And therefore the Jews persecuted Jesus, because he did these things on the Sabbath.
Thus the Gospel of the Lord.

afterthought
In today's Gospel Jesus healed a man who had 38 years of sick and lying near the foyer. When Jesus was passed around, he saw him and healed him. Then Jesus said to him, "You have healed; sin no more, lest anything worse happen." In Jesus' day understood illness as a result of sin. Therefore, just as Jesus reminds the sick man that does not sin .The it must abandon sin and renew his life.
Just as a sick person we heard from today's Gospel, we must have a passion for self-renewal. In the fourth week of this Lent, Jesus reminds us of the importance of the spirit of self renewal in daily living. Self-renewal is not directed first of all on the appearance of a new self-paced, but rather on the renewal of our inner .Hidup we need to be refurbished to make it more pleasing to God, because we live in this world full of struggle with dosa.Tidak we rarely falls on the same sin because of our negligence. Self-renewal meant that we were able to purify and detach ourselves from the bondage of sin and trends bond that could plunge us into the abyss of sin.
In this case, we can imitate the lives of the saints who have tasted the sanctity of life since they are struggling in this world .. For them, life is a continuous process of renewal of life before God. They struggled to beat the ego that often make them love themselves rather than God and neighbor. Therefore, they often do severe ascetic. The goal is that they are able to beat the craving lust of the flesh, so that they may present a pure heart to God in their daily lives.
Self-renewal must begin with a deep prayer, because in prayer we can be united with God. Only God has enabled us to renew ourselves. Updates ourselves makes us more permissive attitude toward sin. We should avoid sin. This will feel uncomfortable and difficult, but it will give fruit fruitfulness.

Prayer.
God, let thy word "Rise, take up your mat and walk." Making our faith firm as thy pupil pupil. Amen.

"You have healed; sin no more, lest anything worse happen."
