First Reading Deuteronomy 4: 1.5-9
In the wilderness side of the Jordan Moses said to his people,
"Men of Israel, hear the statutes and regulations that taught you to do, that ye may live and enter and occupy the land that was given to you by the Lord God of your fathers. Remember, I have taught statutes and regulations you, as commanded by God, My God,
that ye may do so in the country, will ye go to possess. Do it faithfully, because that would be wisdom and your mind in the eyes of the nations. As soon as they hear all these statutes will say: Indeed, this great nation is a people wise and prudent. Which causes great nation that has gods so close to him as the Lord our God whenever we call to him? Which nations and large that has statutes and judgments so righteous as all the laws, which I spread out before you today?
But beware and be careful, lest thou forget the things that are seen by your own eyes that, and so do all of it is gone from your memory for life. Declare all of it to your children and grandchildren granddaughter "
Such is the Word of God.

Psalm Ps 147: 12-13.15-16.19-20
Boast of the Lord, O Jerusalem!
* Boast of the Lord, O Jerusalem: praise thy God, O Zion! For he confirmed the crossbar gates, and blessed the children within you.
* He gave his orders to the earth; immediately ran to his word.
He giveth snow like wool and dissipating frost like ashes.
* He preached the word to Jacob, decrees and laws unto Israel. He did not do so to all nations, and His laws they do not know.

Gospel reading Matthew 5: 17-19
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said to His disciples, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law
or the Prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. Because I tell you: Indeed, until heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the commandments of the Torah even the smallest,
and teaches it to others, he will occupy the places least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever does and teaches all the commandments of the Torah, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. "
Thus the Gospel of the Lord.

In today's first reading, Moses told the people of Israel earnestly in order to keep the rules and regulations he had taught. For all that comes from God himself. Everyone Israel is obliged to pass on and tell all that to the children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren and grandchildren of their great-grandchildren. Even Jesus in the Gospels never want to abolish the law. Jesus came to fulfill the Torah precisely the legacy of faith of Moses. His life itself is the fulfillment of the whole of the Torah and the Bible itself.
