First Reading Isaiah 65: 17-21
Thus saith God, "I create new heavens and a new earth! It's the first thing that will not be remembered, nor come into mind. Rejoice, and rejoice for ever
for what I created. For behold, I create Jerusalem full of cheers and exultation population. I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people;
in it will never be heard again the voice of weeping and groaning sound was not. There will be no more babies who lives a few days or an old man who did not reach the age long. For someone who died a hundred years old will still be considered young, and who do not reach the age of a hundred will be considered cursed. They will build houses and dwell in them; They will plant vineyards
and eat their fruit.
Thus saith the Lord.

Psalm Ps 30: 2.4.5-6.11-12a.13b
I will praise you, O Lord, for thou hast lifted me up.
* I will praise you, Lord, for you lifted me up, and did not let my enemies rejoice over me. Lord, you lifted me out of Sheol, You turn me among those who go down to the pit.
* Sing unto the Lord, O ye who are loved by Him,
and give thanks to his holy name! For a moment His anger is but for life He was generous; sorrow during the night comes in the morning cheers.
* Hear, Lord, and have mercy on me! Lord, be my helper!
I mourner have you change into the dancing.
God, my God, forever I will praise thee.

Introduction to the Gospel Am 5:14
Seek good and not evil, that you may live;
thus God will be with you.

Gospel reading John 4: 43-54
On one occasion Jesus left Samaria and went to Galilee.
For Jesus himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country. When Jesus came to Galilee, the Galileans also welcomed him because they had seen everything that Jesus did in Jerusalem at the feast, for they too had gone to the feast. Then he came again to Cana in Galilee, where he made the water into wine. And at Capernaum there was a royal official, whose son was sick. When the employee was heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him, and asked Jesus to come and heal his son, who was about to die.
Jesus said to him, "Unless you see signs and wonders,
you do not believe. "The royal official said to Him," Lord, come before my child dies. "Jesus told him," Go, your son is alive! "The man believed the word that Jesus said to him, and went away. When he was in the way his servants have come to him with the news that her daughter alive. He asked them what time the child began to recover, they replied, "Yesterday at one o'clock the fever left him." Then the father realized that at the time at which Jesus said to him "Your son will live." and he believed, he and all his family. and that is the second sign that Jesus did when he came from Judea to Galilee.
Thus the Gospel of the Lord.

Devotional.
When he heard that Jesus was in Cana, court officials went to see Jesus to ask for healing for his son. Jesus' reaction rather than following the employee to Capernaum, Jesus even told him to go home and said that her son recover. Very interesting, that the nobleman was immediately believed in the words of Jesus, the result is her son recover.
From the Gospel today, there is one thing that can be contemplated, that faith save her father. Jesus saw that the man was really loved him, so he was willing to travel so far to ask for healing. Therefore, Jesus give me the grace of healing.
The child recovered because the father receive the healing grace of faith. Air faith as a father was hard, because it is usually to heal a physician to come and touch the sick. While Jesus showed that he could do healing from a distance. Moreover journey from Cana to Jerusalem takes a long time. It can be said that on the way home that is dark, the court officials certainly keep faith outcome father's prayers answered.
Maybe we are not as lucky as the nobleman. We experienced that God did not seem to hear us, Why? There are many possible answers to what we often hear, one answer is because "God knows better what we need than we wanted" Or the other answer by the Gospel today, because we are "less confident" I'm sure, if eunuch did not believe in the words of Jesus, he certainly did not get a miracle. In disbelief, he may be questioning the workings of God unusual, unlike physicians who come in and treat the sick. But instead God only give short answers.
When praying we expect God's help, we tend to want to help him as we think. We want the process as we think or the results are as we expected. If so, this kind of faith is contrary to faith father, eunuchs. We do not surrender to God. Let's learn faith.
In our lives, healthy and sick, happy and hard, success and failure is closely related to faith and less or no faith. Air faith means surrendering completely to God so that the way of life and act in accordance with God's will. that is to say
spiritual life can not be separated from daily living. Pray and work like currency duplicity, distinguishable but inseparable. It is necessary to balance the spiritual life with prayer and work. Yesus Kristus is the resurrection and the life He brings eternal life since we are baptized and united with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The period of Lent is a good time for us to renew our faith in Him. We are invited to be more diligent and enterprising pray and work. We are also reminded to always come to him, listened to his words and pray to Him. What for ? So that sin, disease and hardship we are healed by Jesus.

Prayer.
Lord Jesus, thank you for the gift of our lives this, add our faith so that we live joyfully. Amen.

Hear, Lord, and have mercy on me! Lord, be my helper
