Reading the Liturgy Thursday, October 15, 2015

Reading 1: Rom 3: 21-30a
Brothers, without the law, God's truth has now been revealed, as has been witnessed by the law and the scriptures of the prophets, namely:
righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe.
Because there is no distinction. All have sinned and lost the glory of God, and by God's grace, all are justified freely through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Jesus Christ has been established by God to be a propitiation through faith in his blood. This he did to demonstrate his justice, because he has let the sins of the past, through the forbearance of God.
His intention was to demonstrate his justice at the present time, to show that he was right and that he also justifies those who believe in Jesus. If so, is there any reason to boast? Nothing!
Based on what? Based on the deed? No, but by faith.
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith, and not because he is the law. Or is God only the God of Jews only? Is not he also the God of the other nations? Yes, right. He is also God the Gentiles! That is, there is only one God who justifies the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcised through faith.
Thus saith the Lord.

Psalms: Psalm 130: 1-6
O Lord, in thy no redemption abundant.
* From the depths I cry unto thee, O Lord! Lord, hear my voice! Let thy ears attentive to the voice of my supplications.
* If you recall errors, O Lord, who could stand?
But on thy forgiveness, so that you feared.
* I'm waiting for the Lord, my soul look forward, and I expect his word. My soul expects the Lord more than the guards for the morning.

Gospel: Luke 11: 47-54
On one occasion, when he sat down to eat at the house of a Pharisee, Jesus said,
"Woe to you, because you build tombs for the prophets, but moyangmulah grandmother who had killed them. Thus you acknowledge,
that you justify the actions of your ancestors, because they killed the prophets, and you build their tombs.
Therefore the wisdom of God said, 'I will send them prophets and apostles. But some of whom the prophets and apostles they will kill and persecute. Then this generation will be charged the blood of all the prophets
that has been shed since the foundation of the world, from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the house of God. ' In fact, I tell you, 'it will be charged against this generation.'
Woe to you, experts in the law, because you have taken the keys of knowledge. You did not go into it, but people are trying to get you hindered. "And after he departed from that place,
the scribes and Pharisees constantly lurk, and overwhelm him with all manner of problems. With it they are trying to provoke him, to catch him in something he might say.
Thus the Gospel of the Lord.

Afterthought
St. Therese of Avila, as well as St. John of the Cross in Spain and many others, are the people who really live by faith, as intended in the letter to the Romans today, also in accordance with the honesty and sincerity that prompted Jesus in today's Gospel, For them these laws, rules, regulations , the command is not a goal, but a good means to achieve the goal. If they do more than that specified, even in the case of heavy and difficult, it is not for demonstrating outstanding achievement, to be admired or praised. They do so because they know and realize the objective truth, so that the more able to reach it.
In the Church also takes time before a holy woman, not just a man, was named a Doctor of the Church. Now feminism increasingly appreciated and many heads of state or government leaders entrusted to women.
Know saw and put themselves before the Lord correctly, that honestly as it is, this is presumably that can be followed from the saints like St. Therese of Avila. Santo or Santa dignity equal to God. Used as Santa and Doctor of the Church is not an achievement, but because he was pleasing to God.

Items to contemplation
At any given moment we may encounter a dilemma situation. If we perform an action might we break the law, but if you do not perform humanitarian catastrophe could occur. Considering what Jesus then I think we should heed the safety of human beings, even though the action may violate the law.

Prayer
Father, may we always be able to cope with situations that dilemma with the help of your Holy Spirit is always with us
