Teresa was born in Avila, Spain, on March 28, 1515. As a little girl in a rich family house, Teresa and her brother Rodrigo liked to read the lives of the saints and martyrs. St. Theresia was a great leader and a man who truly loves Jesus and His Church. He died in 1582 and was proclaimed a saint by Pope Gregory XV in 1622. He was declared a Doctor of the Church by Pope Paul VI in 1970.
St. Teresa taught that we should have great confidence in God's care for us. He wrote that a person who has God, nothing short of anything; God alone is enough.
