Reading the Liturgy Wednesday, October 21, 2015

First Reading Romans 6: 12-18
Brothers do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its desires. And do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but hand over yourselves to God as people, who were dead, but now living. And hand over your members to God to be the weapons of truth. Because you will not have dominion over sin, because you are not under law but under grace. So how? What shall we sin, because we are not under law but under grace? Absolutely not! Do you not know that if you present yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, whether of sin that leads you to death, or of obedience that leads you to the truth? But thankfully to God! Formerly indeed you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey the teachings that have been passed on to you. You have been set free from sin, and become servants of righteousness. Thus saith the Lord.

Psalm, Psalm 124: 1-8.
Aid us in the name of God.
If not God who sided with us, let Israel say so,
if not God who sided with us, when men rose up against us,
then they had swallowed us alive, when their anger blazing against us; then the water has washed us, and the river has gone over us, then have gone over us water overflowing.
Blessed be the Lord who did not hand us a prey to their teeth! Our soul is escaped as a bird from the snare of a bird catcher; the snare is broken, and we too have escaped! Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Gospel reading Luke 12: 39-42
On one occasion, Jesus said to His disciples disciples, mark it well either, if the host know what time the thief was coming, he would not let his house be demolished. You also must be ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. "Said Peter:" Lord, We the you mean by this parable, or also all the people? "The Lord replied:" So, who is the housekeeper faithful and discreet who shall be appointed by his master to be head over all of his servants to give them food in due season? Blessed is the servant, who found his master doing his job, when the master comes. I tell you the truth, the master will lift him in charge of all his property. But if the servant is evil and said in his heart: My lord is not lingering, and he begins to beat his fellow slaves male and female servants, and eat and drink and get drunk,
then the master of that servant will come on a day he does not expect, and when he is not aware, and will cut him and make him kinship with people who are not faithful. The servant who knows his master's will, but who do not hold a preparatory or do not do what his master desired, he will receive a lot of punches. But who does not know his master's will and does what it should cause the blow, he will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much is given, much will be required, and to whom much is given, of him shall much is required. ".
Thus the Gospel of the Lord.

Afterthought.
To be able to find the will of God is not an easy thing for people who are always trying to live right, to be honest with him and others, then his life will be peaceful because it is acceptable to him. Our life before God sometimes as a slave to his master. A servant does not know much about his master, which he knew was running errands as possible, so he is free from punishment and life will be saved. Similarly, a believer, he is living in total surrender to God, although sometimes the presence and His existence was dark. Surrendering to God is not a passive act, in the sense of not doing anything. Surrendering to be seen in the context of the live call. Humans are called and sent out in order to go and bear fruit, man is called to do something, as an embodiment of the hand-over to God, it is faith.
The word of God teaches that human beings are always ready to face reality, faithfulness to Him sometimes demands our ability to confront the denial of the treasure and the others, although it is not always to be the case, Assistance Holy Spirit will enable humans to align relationship with God and others.
United and close to God be the most basic things in human life,

Items to contemplation.
Have we act as servants of the Lord is good and faithful? We do not know when the Lord will come, especially when the Lord came to pick us to live happily with him. Jesus invites us to always be prepared so that whenever the Lord comes we are ready to welcome him. Good preparation is always good to try to live according to his will, which lives in the spirit of love for God and neighbor.

Prayer.
O Jesus, teach us to faithfully carry out our duties and responsibilities as a student of your disciples, Amen.
