First reading Jonah 3: 1-10,
The Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying: "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and to it the proclamation which I spake unto you." So Jonah went to Nineveh, according to the word of God. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, three days' walk. Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, "Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown." People of Nineveh believed God, and they announced their fasting, both adults and children, dressed in sackcloth. When the news reached the king of Nineveh, he arose from his throne, laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. Then on the orders of the king and his superiors the proclaimed and said in Nineveh thus: "Man and livestock, cattle and sheep should not eat anything, can not eat grass and should not drink the water. Let everyone, man and beast be covered sackcloth, and cry mightily to God earnestly that each may turn from his evil way and from the violence that is. Who knows, God may yet repent and turn away from His wrath which kindled it, so that we perish not? . " When God saw their works, that they turned from their wicked way, then God relented concerning the calamity which has would bring upon them, he did not do.

Psalm 130: 1b-2,3-4,7-8
If you remember the recall error, O Lord who is resistant?
"From the depths I cry unto thee, O Lord! Lord, hear my voice! Let thy ears attentive to the voice of my supplications.
"If you, O Lord, remember mistakes, Lord, who could stand? But on thy forgiveness, so that you feared.
"Hope in the Lord, O Israel! For the Lord there is mercy, and he many times hold a liberation. He will deliver Israel from all his mistakes.

Gospel reading Luke 10: 38-42
When Jesus and His disciples on the way, he came to a village. A woman named Martha received Him in his home.
The woman had a sister named Mary. Mary sat at Jesus' feet and kept listening to his word, But Martha was distracted with much serving. He approached him and said: "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her to help me." But the Lord answered: "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken from him."

Afterthought
The times bring changes in attitude and lifestyle as well. Upon the celebration of the Eucharist on Sunday, a young man called to my phone using a private number or conceal his identity, saying: "Father, I wanted to repent and to leave drug addiction, but how difficult. I also wish to consult with the Father, but is still shy. Excuse me Mr. "I am stunned and did not know exactly who's calling, I then enable him to come and see you ashore. But he was still shy and not able to come, he then declared "'I am not ready to say who I am, because you are often asked me and him Father, my good son well, forgive me Father"
This young man longing to be rid of drug addiction are very big, but he was still entangled with friends and the environment have not been able to make a firm decision to escape from the snare of drugs.
Yunus dare call "threat" of the Lord and the people of Nineveh, including the elders and the king himself taking a stand to build repentance and turning away from his life that is lost. The question for us today, how can we proclaim repentance and find the right way to reverse the way of life could be made simultaneously and become inward movement of all citizens?
In today's Gospel Jesus, when Jesus visited home of Martha and Mary, Martha was very busy serving while Mary sat at the feet of Jesus to hear his word Jesus commended Mary for diligently selecting the best part is listening to the Word of God. As Jesus reminded Martha that is not too busy and worried about many things.
In daily life, we are the disciples of Jesus more often act like Marta, today's Gospel reminds us of His disciples to dare to learn from Mary, chose the best by hearing the word of God. Our life requires a balance between the physical and the spiritual, between the earthly and the heavenly

Items to contemplation
In our beloved country, pembangunaan synagogue continues to rise, spiritual activities in each religion is also lively, but crime and corruption even be a "movement menjemaat" How can we be like Jonah in this age also become like the people of Nineveh repented and turn to goodness. How can we choose the best part in this life?

Prayer
Lord, teach us to dare for a moment abandon our routines for dihadirat your knees. Amen.
